PhD position on active Brownian motion

The group of Prof. Dr. Clemens Bechinger, Experimental Physics, Soft Matter, University of Konstanz in Germany offers the position of a PhD Student (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter oder wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) (Pay scale: 13 TV-L / Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L).

Project description and responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute to the project „controlled interaction rules in active suspensions“ funded by the EU.

Goal of this project is to investigate the behavior of self-propelled particles which interact by means of individual interaction rules which can be imposed externally.

The project builds upon the group’s previous work on these and related subjects in the field of active Brownian motion.

We welcome applications from highly motivated and skilled candidates with interest in experimental work and with good command of the English (or German) language (both written and spoken). Duties may also include contributions to the teaching in the Physics Department.

Employment requirements:
